The woman from Kent dialed 999 to report the “emergency” after she went outside for a cigarette and noticed that someone had stolen the snowman that she made 5 hours previously. Clearly distraught the woman begins describing what happened to the bemused operator. Shocked at this “appalling” crime she concludes "It ain't a nice road but at the end of the day, you don't expect someone to nick your snowman, you know what I mean?"
Although the Chief Inspector has branded the phone call “completely irresponsible” saying that "This call could have cost someone's life if someone else couldn't get through.” I sympathize with the woman. Although I myself would not have dialed the emergency number if my snowman was stolen; any sort of theft is awful, especially when it is something that has been crafted in art-like fashion by your own hands.
